Understand Search, Filter, Sort and record actions
A reference for controls shared across lists and detail pages.
Search and narrow a list
Search, Filter and Sort can appear as compact icons on phones. Their accessible names identify the action. A result count describes the current view, not necessarily every record in the studio.
- Search looks inside the current module unless you opened the studio-wide search.
- Filter narrows the result set by available status, date, category or ownership fields.
- Sort changes order; it does not change the underlying record.
- Clear filters or switch back to All when a record seems to have disappeared.
Use the record actions menu
The same three-dot control can contain different actions in different modules. Permission, status and record type determine what appears. An unavailable action should not be replaced by editing a different record to imitate the outcome.
- Open the row, card or top-right actions menu for a specific record.
- Choose Edit for fields that this module allows you to change.
- Review Save or Cancel in the form. Cancel closes the draft; Save persists it and should be followed by a visual check.
- Use Archive or Restore only when offered for that record. Read destructive confirmations before proceeding.
Recover from errors and incomplete setup
Use a visible Retry action for a failed read. If a save reports uncertainty, reopen the record and check whether it was actually saved before trying again. Booking setup can have its own Finish booking setup or Retry project setup action. A second submission can create duplicate money or work if the first one succeeded.
Move around without changing a record
Go back, Back to enquiries, All bookings and similar links navigate to a list or parent page; they do not undo a saved action. Open menu and Close menu only show or hide navigation. Close form or Close preview dismisses the current surface; if the form has unsaved changes, read the discard prompt. Dismiss hides a notice without fixing the underlying condition. Refresh or Retry reloads the named data after an error; it does not create a new record.
